It’s been 2 years since we founded ViOffice. While in our blog article on the first “birthday” of ViOffice we mainly dealt with our founding period, today we would like to briefly report on our second year and share future plans with you.
The Second Year
The first year of our project was especially characterized by the founding process and the publicity of ViOffice. Shortly after the official release, we were contacted by various parties and had the opportunity to present our idea to a broader audience, including the Office for Communication and Marketing of the Trier University, the City Radio Trier, the Trierischer Volksfreund, the ‘Spirit-Future Lab Talk’ and the podcast Flieten, Viez und Ideen. After this initial attention had subsided somewhat, we focused on day-to-day business and the consolidation or improvement of internal processes. Among other things, we have increased our product portfolio, all of our services have received numerous updates over the past few months, and we have implemented additional technical controls on our servers.
At the same time, we continue to work on our overarching goal: to make a positive contribution to a digital, social and sustainable society with the help of open source software, data protection and privacy. Of course, all our services continue to be based 100% on privacy-compliant, Free Open Source Software on sustainably operated servers in Germany. In addition, we have published 21 blog articles around these topics since last October and set up our monthly Open Tech Newsletter.
The Future
ViOffice has become a part of our everyday life. We are very grateful to you for that! On this way we were allowed to try ourselves out in many fields (personal and business), to collect experiences and ideas as well as to establish and improve internal processes. In the future, we would like to build on these experiences of the last two years in order to work in a more targeted manner and to further expand the most useful approaches. Of course, we always want to provide you with the latest technology. That is why we are already pleased to announce that there will be another major software update of our cloud system at the turn of the year.
ViOffice is a project close to our hearts and reflects our own ideas of an ecological, just, self-determined and solidary society. These goals will continue to be the focus of our activities in the future. With your support we can continue to work towards these goals. Thank you for 2 years of ViOffice!
Pascal founded ViOffice together with Jan in the fall of 2020. He mainly takes care of marketing, finance and sales. After his degrees in political science, economics and applied statistics, he continues to work in scientific research. With ViOffice, he wants to provide access to secure software from Europe for everyone and especially support non-profit associations in their digitalization.
