EU fines Facebook/Meta € 1.2 Billion for Mass Surveillance

After a 10-year legal dispute, the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) has fined Facebook's parent company, Meta, a record 1.2 billion euros for mass surveillance and violations of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

EU AI Act: Fine-tuning in the EU Parliament before Final Vote

On May 11, the responsible committee in the EU Parliament made the last changes to the EU AI Act before the final vote in June. In a further step, the law must be discussed with the European Council.

Workforce Shortage in Cyber Security Grows

A report from the Cybersecurity Organization (ISC)² shows that globally, the cyber security workforce shortage is on the rise. Europe in particular could be in trouble as a result.

European Cyber Resilience Act

The European Parliament and EU member states are in the process of discussing the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), which is a proposed Regulation designed to enhance the cybersecurity of connected devices within the EU. The CRA suggests implementing auditing and certification standards for manufacturers of software and hardware used in connected devices.
